My Cardinal mistake

I made the mistake of going out back to take a picture of a beautiful cardinal against the white snow only to come in and find "creamer boy" and the disaster he created in the kitchen in single minute I was out the door. He was "drinking momma!" He IS my mischievous one...that is for sure!

2010 Christmas Blizzard

Ok now...I love the snow (or I used to anyway). The snow is becoming a little much. The "boys" have been outside for over an hour playing and their daddy has been shoveling for a solid two hours. We can walk a little and the car is out, but enough snow already!

Christmas Time

It was nice to have Aaron's family come up and visit for Christmas. The boys love having guests (and are always up a bit earlier)! Mam made the trip with Nonnie and Pappaw this time. We were able to enjoy the indoors mostly as the Winter had already started up pretty good by the time they had arrived. Snow, Snow, Snow...and some more snow...
Santa came and left a few gifts...Nonnie and Pappaw came and left a ton of gifts. The boys were in heaven and I shutter to think about finding a place to store all their new little goodies. Looks like the Goodwill and Church will be getting a visit from some of their older items. It is always fun to have family around during the holidays. And just like I dreamt when I was was a White Christmas (my favorite movie of all time)!

Santa has a new ride..

Didn't you know that Santa has a new ride...the NY Police Heli?!? The boys were in amazement as they watched him fly in and get out of a helicopter. Made their daddy look even cooler in their eyes :) 2nd Aviation (who Aaron flies with here in NY) had their annual Christmas Party and this year the NY State Police were able to help Santa arrive in style. fun fun fun

Dinner with Friends

Things we have in common, we are in the same department, our kiddos are the same age...and they are wonderful friends! Love the Knight family and can't wait to have many more dinners with them and our crazy kiddos. They have one cooking...can't wait to meet whatever "it" may be :)

Our first Christmas Tree in 3 Years!

This year Christmas is special to us because we have our own home and decorated our OWN Christmas Tree! The boys love it, and I love how it makes the house feel. So glad to be in a home for longer than 6 months for the first time in a couple of years. Even though I am already freezing my buns off.

Thanksgiving Time

Gramma came to visit for the month of November, and Pop Pop came up for Thanksgiving week. We had so much fun spending time with them and Gramma even got her snow (as she prayed for daily)! Pictures from Thanksgiving are MIA, so either one of the little munchkins has been messing with a camera or they are hiding from us somewhere. I will update with more pictures hopefully soon. These are from Caiden's Thanksgiving day feast at Pre-K. Gram volunteered at his school a lot while she was here and he loved it!

We are SO PROUD of Aaron. I was able to pin his much deserved Oak Leaf on during a beautiful ceremony at Trophy Point. His folks and mine were able to fly up for the occassion. Good times were had by all. Aaron has worked so hard since he has come to West Point. We are very proud of our MAJ Ashley!

Caiden decided (once again) that he would like to be a police officer. He has now been a policeman twice and a fireman twice. I am sensing a pattern :) Cameron had the construction thing still in his head from his birthday...he loves construction anything! They were both so cute! Ahhhhh, now Caiden is already talking about next Halloween. I am sure he will change his mind 10 times before the actual date.

Uncle Robert & Aunt Erica visit..

We are so blessed to have the wonderful friends we have! Erica and Robert hold true to that phrase, our lives would be different without them in it! We had such a wonderful time during their visit. The boys love hanging on and out with them :) Wish they lived closer! One day we will all be closer, but we so enjoyed our week with them and all the fun we had.

Falling for Fall!

It is so amazingly beautiful here in the Fall! I love seasons and there haven't been a lot of times during my life when I get to live in the amazement of these colors! Even though I think that it will be short lived, I am enjoying this weather while I can :)

Fall Crafts

Those of you that know me know I LOVE crafts! I haven't had a lot of time lately to get any crafts done, but I snuck in a few this week! I bought stuff to make a "boo" wreath for my front door back in September...and just got to it this week, but I love how it turned out!
Then my neighbor Kathy saw the candy corn wreath on the front of the woman's day magazine and made one for her front door. I liked it so much that I had to make a mini version for my dining room...with a couple "trees" to match! I think they turned out cute...and it was relaxing to sit in the quiet of the 9-11 pm hour making them :)

{Our Cadets}

We had a couple of our *favorite* cadets over the other night, Oakie and R.J. I made crock pot roast. You would think you were giving them a million dollars every time you feed them! They are both from the south and enjoy a little home cooked southern meal from time to time. Of course I have to include a big pitcher of sweet tea as well :)
A little back ground on the cadets...
We adopted R.J. from one of my friends that was moving back to Bragg (pictured with Caiden)...we couldn't be more blessed to have such an awesome cadet adopt us back! Oakie aka Nathan Oakland Osbourne III (pictured with Cam) is the pastor that married Aaron and I son (Pastor Osbourne of Faith Baptist)! He is a firstie (senior), so we will only have him with us for the rest of the school year...but we are so blessed to have him as well! What awesome young men...they are good with the boys and I love being able to make them smile just by cooking a simple dinner.
For a cadet...being able to have a home cooked meal and enjoy a "home" atmosphere is a huge deal! These are just two of our 7 cadets, but we love these guys...and so do the boys!

~Apple Pie~

Okay...this was by far the BEST APPLE PIE recipe I have ever made!!! First, I have never made an apple pie without using Granny Smith apples. But we only had McIntosh, Empire and Red Delicious in our bag (Orchard didn't have Grannies). HOWEVER, I honestly don't think any apple (maybe not mealy) could make this recipe taste bad! I made mini pies in cupcake tins because we were having cadets and another CPT over for dinner...thought the individual servings might be fun! I gave four of them to our neighbors and between the four men that were at our house, the plate above was polished off! I tried it (of course) and it was delicious! If anyone is interested in the recipe...I will be more than happy to send it to you!

Homemade Apple Sauce

Apples, Apples and more Apples...
We had about 40 apples left in the bag from the orchard a couple of weeks ago and I didn't want them to just waste away (there were already a few that had gone bad or squirrels had got into since the bag was hanging on our porch). This applesauce recipe was so easy and it might just be the best applesauce I have ever had! It has a touch of cinnamon and the little bit of sugar balanced out the semi-tartness of a couple of the apples (red delicious, empire, mcintosh). I would say we will share with family that will be here soon, however the boys love applesauce and the two jars we have left might go quickly! ~Yummy~

Happy 2nd Birthday CAMERON!

I can't believe my baby is 2! ~sniff sniff~ We let him pick out something for his birthday this year, and he chose a ride on Thomas the Tank. He laughs and laughs while riding it. After ToysRUs...we headed to Cracker Barrel! We had a great night for Cam's 2nd birthday. Boy they grow up fast...we are so blessed!

Cameron's CoNsTruCtIoN Birthday Party

Cameron LOVES anything Construction and/or Fire Trucks! This year we had a hard time deciding between the two, but construction won out! He loved it and his Momma even took the time to devise a construction cake! It was fun to make and even more fun to watch the kids and their black tongues! The one thing that just didn't seem right was that our families weren't here :( We miss being close enough to celebrate the boys birthdays with our FL day again though...
Can't wait to see you all in November though :)
~Happy Birthday Littlest Buddy~We Love You Sooooooo Much!!!

Cam's Kitchen

For about two months, our little Camo snuck into our next door neighbors back door to play with their {play kitchen}. So we thought it would be a good idea for him to get one of his own and his Nonnie and Papaw sent him one for his birthday! ~he LOVES it~

All those ApPleS...

What to do with all those Apples...the first 20 apples went to about 18 jars of Apple Butter! Homemade in the crock pot...and it is DELICIOUS! It took 13 hours to cook it down and then pureed it to a buttery smooth texture! I can't wait to share it with all of our Fall/Winter guests!

Apple Ridge Orchard

I wish Aaron could have made it to the Orchard with us (he was on a staff ride for the weekend down to Gettysburg, PA), we had so much fun at the orchard! We picked waaaay too many apples...which I am still trying to figure out ways to use! There were 4 of us moms, and 7 kids (would have been two more if they weren't in school!) The kids were hilarious together...
Cameron of COURSE was completely infatuated with the tractors...and was mad when we walked away :( Caiden's hair is absolutely nutz, but he refuses to trim when he gets all sweaty it is crazy wildness!
We can't wait to take Daddy to the other Orchard and Pumpkin Patch! I love the Fall up here...soooo beautiful!

The first Army game of the was a tongue biter! We left at half time, but the rest of the game was awesome. Army rallied back to almost beat Hawaii. Some say it was their best game in 10 years! I can't wait for the rest of the season...

Ride on the Sup's Boat..

I just had to post these pictures, because the boys looked sooo cute in the cadet hat! Mario (the cadet sitting with us) came on our Church outing. It was a night filled with good BBQ, desserts and good people! There was not a sermon per say, but Pastor Snavely always gives good ones, every one just had a great time :) And the boys LOVED Mario...he'll be a good daddy one day!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend because Aaron was actually able to be off work! We attended the 1812 Overture Concert here on post at Trophy Point. It was the last concert in the series of Summer Concerts this season. The Benny Havens Band that preforms here regularly was great and they had a chance to accompany Phil Stacey, a finalist on American Idol! We didn't get to stay for the fireworks display because of two very tired boys...however we did see them very clearly from our house! They were about 15 minutes longer than ones of the 4th of July...Awesome!

Cadet March Back

The boys thought the band, the army trucks, and the Old Grads were awesome! This is a big deal on post here and tons of people come out and stand on sidewalks and take over hillsides to welcome these NEW cadets back (after training) for 4 years!

Aaron scheduled SO MANY "appearances" by different aircraft this summer for the cadet training that went on...and on...and on (oh sorry!) Anyway...the Osprey were by far the coolest we got to see. Actual TILT ROTORS as Caiden loved to say. He had a bit of an infatuation with these crafts for a looong while..they were pretty cool!

4th of July 2010

While in Ohio Caiden's cousin, Austin, taught him how to ride his bike with no training wheels! And of course as soon as we get home he is all about riding that bike (every day all day!) The end of our street opted for a combined BBQ and fun was had by all. We saw a beautiful display of fireworks at WP to end the night...awesome!
