~Halloween~

Caiden decided (once again) that he would like to be a police officer. He has now been a policeman twice and a fireman twice. I am sensing a pattern :) Cameron had the construction thing still in his head from his birthday...he loves construction anything! They were both so cute! Ahhhhh, now Caiden is already talking about next Halloween. I am sure he will change his mind 10 times before the actual date.

Uncle Robert & Aunt Erica visit..

We are so blessed to have the wonderful friends we have! Erica and Robert hold true to that phrase, our lives would be different without them in it! We had such a wonderful time during their visit. The boys love hanging on and out with them :) Wish they lived closer! One day we will all be closer, but we so enjoyed our week with them and all the fun we had.

Falling for Fall!

It is so amazingly beautiful here in the Fall! I love seasons and there haven't been a lot of times during my life when I get to live in the amazement of these colors! Even though I think that it will be short lived, I am enjoying this weather while I can :)

Fall Crafts

Those of you that know me know I LOVE crafts! I haven't had a lot of time lately to get any crafts done, but I snuck in a few this week! I bought stuff to make a "boo" wreath for my front door back in September...and just got to it this week, but I love how it turned out!
Then my neighbor Kathy saw the candy corn wreath on the front of the woman's day magazine and made one for her front door. I liked it so much that I had to make a mini version for my dining room...with a couple "trees" to match! I think they turned out cute...and it was relaxing to sit in the quiet of the 9-11 pm hour making them :)

{Our Cadets}

We had a couple of our *favorite* cadets over the other night, Oakie and R.J. I made crock pot roast. You would think you were giving them a million dollars every time you feed them! They are both from the south and enjoy a little home cooked southern meal from time to time. Of course I have to include a big pitcher of sweet tea as well :)
A little back ground on the cadets...
We adopted R.J. from one of my friends that was moving back to Bragg (pictured with Caiden)...we couldn't be more blessed to have such an awesome cadet adopt us back! Oakie aka Nathan Oakland Osbourne III (pictured with Cam) is the pastor that married Aaron and I son (Pastor Osbourne of Faith Baptist)! He is a firstie (senior), so we will only have him with us for the rest of the school year...but we are so blessed to have him as well! What awesome young men...they are good with the boys and I love being able to make them smile just by cooking a simple dinner.
For a cadet...being able to have a home cooked meal and enjoy a "home" atmosphere is a huge deal! These are just two of our 7 cadets, but we love these guys...and so do the boys!

~Apple Pie~

Okay...this was by far the BEST APPLE PIE recipe I have ever made!!! First, I have never made an apple pie without using Granny Smith apples. But we only had McIntosh, Empire and Red Delicious in our bag (Orchard didn't have Grannies). HOWEVER, I honestly don't think any apple (maybe not mealy) could make this recipe taste bad! I made mini pies in cupcake tins because we were having cadets and another CPT over for dinner...thought the individual servings might be fun! I gave four of them to our neighbors and between the four men that were at our house, the plate above was polished off! I tried it (of course) and it was delicious! If anyone is interested in the recipe...I will be more than happy to send it to you!

Homemade Apple Sauce

Apples, Apples and more Apples...
We had about 40 apples left in the bag from the orchard a couple of weeks ago and I didn't want them to just waste away (there were already a few that had gone bad or squirrels had got into since the bag was hanging on our porch). This applesauce recipe was so easy and it might just be the best applesauce I have ever had! It has a touch of cinnamon and the little bit of sugar balanced out the semi-tartness of a couple of the apples (red delicious, empire, mcintosh). I would say we will share with family that will be here soon, however the boys love applesauce and the two jars we have left might go quickly! ~Yummy~

Happy 2nd Birthday CAMERON!

I can't believe my baby is 2! ~sniff sniff~ We let him pick out something for his birthday this year, and he chose a ride on Thomas the Tank. He laughs and laughs while riding it. After ToysRUs...we headed to Cracker Barrel! We had a great night for Cam's 2nd birthday. Boy they grow up fast...we are so blessed!

Cameron's CoNsTruCtIoN Birthday Party

Cameron LOVES anything Construction and/or Fire Trucks! This year we had a hard time deciding between the two, but construction won out! He loved it and his Momma even took the time to devise a construction cake! It was fun to make and even more fun to watch the kids and their black tongues! The one thing that just didn't seem right was that our families weren't here :( We miss being close enough to celebrate the boys birthdays with our FL family...one day again though...
Can't wait to see you all in November though :)

Cam's Kitchen

For about two months, our little Camo snuck into our next door neighbors back door to play with their {play kitchen}. So we thought it would be a good idea for him to get one of his own and his Nonnie and Papaw sent him one for his birthday! ~he LOVES it~

All those ApPleS...

What to do with all those Apples...the first 20 apples went to about 18 jars of Apple Butter! Homemade in the crock pot...and it is DELICIOUS! It took 13 hours to cook it down and then pureed it to a buttery smooth texture! I can't wait to share it with all of our Fall/Winter guests!

Apple Ridge Orchard

I wish Aaron could have made it to the Orchard with us (he was on a staff ride for the weekend down to Gettysburg, PA), we had so much fun at the orchard! We picked waaaay too many apples...which I am still trying to figure out ways to use! There were 4 of us moms, and 7 kids (would have been two more if they weren't in school!) The kids were hilarious together...
Cameron of COURSE was completely infatuated with the tractors...and was mad when we walked away :( Caiden's hair is absolutely nutz, but he refuses to trim it...so when he gets all sweaty it is crazy wildness!
We can't wait to take Daddy to the other Orchard and Pumpkin Patch! I love the Fall up here...soooo beautiful!
